Bedtime Shift

Twins, siblings, up to three lanes

Daylight saving time with twins and siblings

Twins on one schedule move together: one lane, 15-minute steps under one year, from Wednesday, October 28. An older sibling moves in 30-minute steps from Friday, October 30. Everyone lands on the new clock on Sunday, November 1, 2026, each with their own bedtime.

Your plan

The calendar file gives you one reminder a night, 30 minutes before bedtime.

    One lane or two

If your twins share a schedule, one lane covers both. If one runs earlier, say up at 6:30 am, add a lane for each so the reminders match.

    Different steps, same Sunday

The 9-month-olds go down at 7:15, 7:30, 7:45 and 8:00 pm from Wednesday to Saturday; the 3-year-old at 8:00 and 8:30 pm on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday both are back to 7:00 and 7:30 pm on the new clock.

    Reminders for each

The calendar file names each lane, so bedtime reminders say who they are for. Send to my partner shares the whole plan.

    Questions parents ask next

Should twins be moved together for daylight saving time?

If they share a schedule, yes: one plan keeps them in step. Give each a lane if their times differ.

How do I adjust a baby and a toddler at once?

Add both above. The baby moves 15 minutes a night and starts sooner; the toddler moves 30 and starts two nights later; both land on Sunday.

How many children can I plan?

Up to three, each with their own lane and reminders.

Does the plan work for spring forward?

Yes. Pick Spring forward above for March 14, 2027.
